        • Define Search Applications : In this customizing activity, you define the search providers available for the different types of search used in Master Data Governance(MDG). the available search applications are;
          • Address Search( BAS)
          • Database Search
          • Enterprise Search
          • Remote Key Search
          • SAP HANA Search 
            • 비고: 여기서 access class 별 'freedom', 'fuzzy', 'complex selection' 할지 configure함.
            • for each search type, you have to specify which feature are supported by the underlying search provider implementation, for example, fuzzy search or free text search. you can also specify if complex selection are supported for search. Complex search means that sevral attribute sets can be processed in one step( instead of processing them one after the other). for example, when searching for duplicate of a business partner, who has multiple addresses, all of these addresses can be processed at once. some of the settings you make for a search provider are used by the system to control UI elements. for example, if you specify that a search provider supports free text search then an additional input field will be rendered to enter the search term.

        • Configure Duplicate Check for Entity Types: in this customizing activity, you configure the duplicate check for an entity type. based on the data model(for example, BP or MM), you define which search mode the system should used and which thresholds(percentages) to apply. when selecting the percentages for the low threshold and high threshold, note the following; 
          • records that have a matching score lower than the low threshold are not considered duplicates.
          • records that have a matching score greater than the low threshold are considered potential duplicates
          • records that have a matching score greater than or equal to the high threshold are considered to be identical. these records  can still be created, but the user will receive an additional warning message that they are creating a potential duplicate.
          • matching score feature is only available for SAP HANA search and BAS. BP, the following search modes can be selected; this setting ensures that the system searches for potential duplicates based on the BAS-DES interface.

definition:indicates different types of search applications, such as database search, enterprise search, address search (BAS) or HANA search. these search application can be used for direct search on the search UI or as search provider for duplicate check.

use: you select a search mode during customizing to activate duplicate check using the activity 'configure search applications for global search and duplicate check'. if you do not specify a search mode,  the default mode is database serach.
